Description: The apartment is elegantly furnished, and offers a warm and romantic stay in Paris. The original features have been carefully restored, including original oak floors, moldings, and fireplace (decorative only).

Enter this Paris apartment to a wide corridor. Turn right into the open living and dining room of the apartment where our rental guests tell us the view of the Eiffel Tower and Paris simply take their breath away. It is a beautiful double room where sunlight pours in. The original oak floors are laid in classic herringbone pattern and have been restored to their original beauty; the fireplace is on your right. This room has two pair of French doors which lead onto decorative balconies; our guests are simply astounded by the view of the Eiffel Tower straight ahead and the gardens of the Champ de Mars and Parisian life below. The view is simply magnificent day and night.

Between the French doors stands an antique walnut chest of drawers, a beautiful focal point and practical for storage. The original gray fireplace (decorative only) stands on the right, surrounded by a Louis Philippe-style sofa bed and two armchairs. The empire-style sofa bed is on your left with an armchair facing it. The sofa was custom made for its exceptional comfort and versatility - day and night. It is over two meters long and actually has a twin mattress for the sofa seat, plus a twin trundle which pulls out from underneath. The mattresses are on wooden slats, meaning good support at sleeping and sitting. They are good for sitting on, for taking naps, or to convert to comfortable beds at night. A pretty oak love seat sits in the corner next to the fireplace. It is covered in beige checked fabric and makes a cozy seat for reading and enjoying the view. Next to the fireplace is a marble bistro table with TV, DVD player, and stereo. The DVD and CD player are compatible with American movies, so you can bring some of your favorites with you. The satellite connection means you can watch CNN and BBC news, and sample all of the French channels as well. We provide a free wireless ADSL line so you can check your emails while savoring the view.

The far left wall is lined with built-in sycamore cupboards providing storage, in simple contrast to the antiques and oak parquet floor. The pale round dining table sits in front of the French doors, which means you can savor the view while having your cafe au lait and croissants in the morning, or dining to the Eiffel Tower's glow at night. The table expands to seat six, and a colorful Italian glass chandelier sits above it.

Enter the kitchen on the left of the living room to find a well-designed space where you can prepare and cook a gourmet meal in Paris, the capital of cuisine. One of the nicest surprises is the wide opening above the sink which offers a view the Eiffel Tower, even while doing dishes. There is a large refrigerator/freezer, microwave, oven, four-burner stove, dishwasher, teapot, coffeemaker, espresso maker, and toaster. Granite countertops in pink and gray complement the sycamore cabinets. All of the cooking and serving accessories are provided. The white porcelain dishes are from E. Dehellerin in Paris, the shop which furnishes all good restaurants. With a full array of cookware, you can shop the local open markets and shops to prepare your own gourmet meals.
From the front door of the apartment, find the guest bathroom on your left with toilet & sink, and plenty of clothes hooks for guests.
The guest bedroom of this Paris rental apartment is next on your left and has an en suite bathroom. There are two single beds; one is a trundle under the other. A built-in closet for storage is on the far right. The bedspread is quilted from traditional toile de jouy fabric, giving the room a fresh Provencal feel. French doors and a charming balcony mean you can step out and enjoy the view over the quartier's rooftops.

The en suite bathroom is tiled in Italian marble; a decorative frieze surrounds the walls and gives the room a Mediterranean feel. It's a sunny room with two windows, toilet, sink, and beautifully tiled long shower and bench.

The shower has a fixed shower head as well as a flexible one, unlike most apartments in France. There is also an 80-gallon hot water tanks, the largest available, and a rarity in France.

Continue down the corridor to the master bedroom on your left. There is a built-in closet on the right, as you enter. The room has a high-quality queen-size bed imported from Italy, good reading lamps, and French doors with a small balcony. There are beautiful views over the rooftops. The headboard is a copy of an antique Venetian bench, painted in pale yellows and beige, giving the room a soft, romantic touch. Facing the bed is a narrow brown leather console table with flat screen TV and access to both French stations and English-speaking news stations. A dramatic antique mirror sits on top.

An important note: all of the windows are state-of-the-art double paned to provide excellent sound proofing for a good night's sleep.

At the far end of the corridor, find the master bathroom of the apartment with bathtub and shower. A pair of antique white marble sinks sits on the limestone worktop; they came from Naples and are carved in the form of large seashells. The room is tiled in beige limestone; a frieze of a mythical fish hangs above the bathtub. Two narrow medicine chests and a shelf below the sinks provides ample storage.

There is a full washer and separate dryer in the bathroom closet.
Exterior: This Paris apartment is over 750 square feet, on the sixth floor (with elevator) and faces west, which means it is above the treetops, very light and sunny. Small decorative balcony which you can stand and enjoy the view.
