Reviews: I wanted to let you know that we had an absolutely fantastic time in Monflanquin! The house was beautiful and spaciousand just great! We spent our days visiting other towns/villages in the area. It was wonderful! We really loved SW France, and enjoyed exploring all the picturesque villages. Everyone we met was king, helpful, and generous. Our week in Paris was great, too, but the week in Monflanquin was our favorite. We were so impressed by the beauty of the country, and can't wait to go back very soon. P. Thune. Des Moines, Iowa. September 2013.

Thanks so much for all your help, We had a great time in France at Maison Monflanquin and we already miss being there and riding our bikes. We can't wait to return next year. We are already dreaming of being there again and talk about France every day! Thanks for everything. See you next year. J. Maples. Huntsville AL. July 2010.

We loved this rental house in SW France. It was perfect for our 3 week stay. Thank you very much for your thorough and professional services. We would not hesitate to use France Bound again and I have referred your company to many friends already. We loved the house in Monflaquin and have talked about going back there. Next time we will try to stay longer, because we want to see and do everything and find time to relax too. We realize that it was the quiet times at home that we all enjoyed the most and found the most restful. Our favourite dinners were barbeques at home on the terrace, while enjoying the lovely garden and fabulous sunsets. The weather was beautiful, but a bit hot, so we often went to the community pool to cool off. I know the owners are planning a renovation this year, but the house is already sapcious, practical and very well equipped, as well as charming and conveniently located. During our stay, we enjoyed the Monflaquin Medieval festival. Everyone was in costume, there were craftspeople and merchants, musicians and jugglers, food, parades etc., all day and night for two days. It was fabulous and we had a a lot of fun. We are so glad you recommended a stay in the Aquitaine region, which was new for us and is now a favourite place to be. We really enjoyed the peacefulness of the area...mot so many tourists as other areas. We also enjoyed kayaking, cycling, and the caves in the Dordogne were a highlight. We liked the local wines too, especially the Bergerac roses.

We had a great trip. The house and little town of Monflanquin were great. We walked into town every day, and to eat at night. We cycled early almost every morning and we were very excited to see Lance Armstrong riding in the Tour de France. The weather was great, and we can't wait to return. Thanks for everything. Local Info:
Monflanquin has been named 'un des plus beau villages de France' and it is one of the best preserved examples of a Medieval bastide village. These villages were established across this part of France in the 13th century by feuding nobles to defend their territory. Monflanquin is at the top of a 180 m hill, providing views of the surrounding countryside, including the famous Chateau Biron. Monflanquin is renowned for its treed central market square which remains much as it has since the Middle Ages. It features a farmers' market every Thursday and the historic buildings surrounding the square contain a selection of good restaurants, bars, and other commercial enterprises. The regional tourist office is there, as well as the bastide museum, which tells the story of these types of villages and life in the Middle Ages. The village is more than a scenic and historic spot. It is a thriving community and regional centre, and has a number of bakeries, grocery stores and other facilities, all within easy walking distance (2-10 minutes) of the house. The local wine cooperative, Cave des Sept Monts, is a 5 minute walk from the house. The town has banks, post office and a number of other services, as well as a community sports and recreation centre. Monflanquin population - 2341.
