The gatehouse is a two storey house located on a large wooded terrain. The entrance to the upper 2 bedroom apartment is from the back of the house and the upper level of the property. The apartment has been recently renovated and has lots of light and all modern conveniences. The house is well insulated, spacious and tastefully furnished. The combination living/dining room with built-in kitchen has a sunny adjoining terrace. The principal room has overhead beams and skylights. The dining table accommodates four guests, and there is a large comfortable sectional sofa and TV in the living area. The kitchen has a dishwasher, full size fridge, and all cooking equipment. The floors are tile throughout with oriental area rugs. |

This 70m2 apartment is located on the upper floor of a renovated gate house on a large property with beautiful Provencal vegetation, and located in one of the loveliest areas of Aix. The setting is a calm and quiet country setting only two miles (3km) from the center of town (30 min. walking distance). The gate house consists of two separate units with separate entrances, one on the upper level at the back of the house and the other downstairs on the front side of the house. The guests do not meet unless they wish to. |

The location of the property is within walking distance of the centre of Aix, but the house is located on a hill and may not be suitable for walking with heavy bags, young children, or for those who have difficulty walking. There is convenient bus access into town. The bus stop is located just down the hill from the house. |

Aix en Provence, founded by the Romans because of its thermal springs, is a beautiful university town a half hour north of Marseille and an hour and a half west of Cannes. In opinion polls it has more than once been voted on by French people as the town they would most like to live in. Aix has immense charm, outstanding historic architecture, wonderful sunny weather, lively markets, great foods (hundreds of restaurants), hearty wine, and a large international community. |
