Magny-les-Villers is a rural village in the middle of a landscape of rolling vineyards, the house is 5 minutes from Nuits-Saint-Georges, 10 minutes from Beaune and 30 minutes from Dijon. This "gite" is believed to be one of the oldest houses in the village. The three front windows look on to the village church, which dates from the XII C. The living room includes a new double sofa-bed for extra sleeping. The kitchen has a new stove, fridge and clothes-washing machine. |

There are two connecting bedrooms. From the first bedroom, you must pass through the 2nd bedroom to reach the bathroom and the rest of the house. Bedroom 1 sleeps two in twin beds, and bedroom 2 has a queen bed for 2 persons. The bathroom has a bath with shower.

There is a small private garden area which is fenced off from a common courtyard, and is only a few feet from the house door.
There is lawn furniture in the cellar, which you free to bring out on days when you would like to spend some time eating, reading, or relaxing outside. The covered patio makes an ideal breakfast nook, even on rainy days! |

The trip was wonderful and we loved the house in Magny les Villers. It was perfect for us. I think it is a wonderful house for a couple or a family with children. You have to walk through the twin room to get to the master bedroom so it may not be ideal for 2 couples, but it was perfect for us. The bathroom is nice and big and the hot water heater was terrific. Nice hot showers in a shower that was wonderful for tall people. We really liked the bathroom. The living room and furniture is very comfortable. We found the kitchen a bit small - I am tall and I would have had to bend over too much to use the oven. The refrigerator is small too but fine for our purposes....wine bottles, bread and odds and ends. The location is fantastic and the owner has left oodles of information about places to go and things to do. She was great when I called her which was quite a bit. When we arrived it was very cold and I could not understand the instructions for the heaters. Nor could we figure out cycles on the washing machine so we talked to her about those things. She was very nice and seemed to be available at any time so I appreciated that. All in all, this was the perfect house for us for the week. I am so glad we found it. Thanks for your help. L Scott. The Medieval walled city of Beaune, the spiritual and economic centre of all winemaking in this region, is a short and picturesque 10 min drive away. Moreover, the large and historic city of Dijon is a mere 30 min drive.
For wine lovers this area is ideal for touring the C?¥te de Beaune and C?¥te de Nuits wine villages along the historic "route des vins" ‚Äì or wine road.
We highly recommend renting a car for the duration of your stay, as it is the best way to discover the countryside and to get to Beaune or Dijon.
Only two hours from Paris by TGV, the French high speed train, discover the hearty food and prestigious, world famous wines of this region. |
